A study from the London School of Economics looking at the music/movie industries claims that illegal file sharing did not cause the collapse of the music/movie business – and suggests that the industries are lying when they make the claim that pirates are to blame.

There has been a decline in leisure spending across the world. People are simply spending less on leisure items because they’re have to deal with higher bills, less job security and lower pay. This is evident in the fact that music/movie fans who don’t own computers have stopped buying music at exactly the same rate as those who do. The study also says that introduction of strong laws against piracy will not prevent the business from crashing – and that industry execs are only wasting time and wasting resources.
